PROGRESSION AND ACADEMIC SUPPORT SYSTEM (PASS)
STUDENT FACT SHEET
APC is pleased to announce the implementation of the Progression and Academic Support System (PASS) that will offer you various opportunities of reassessment during term. Its purpose is to help students achieve course progress, address academic issues they may have, and offer individual study plans and support as needed.
APC will encourage and support students in addressing course progress issues as they arise during term. Students will attend tutorials or individual consultations with their trainers to better understand the competency criteria. They might also receive an invitation from the Study Progress team to discuss their reassessment options available during term.
UNDERSTANDING RESUBMISSIONS
7-DAY FREE RESUBMISSION
Students who are Not Yet Competent (NYC) and submitted a genuine attempt, will have a chance to submit their second attempt for free. The second attempt submission is free and available up to 7 days from when the trainer’s feedback is released. A trainer will return the student’s assessment and grant a 7-day extension for the student to submit the assessment again.
PASS
CURRENT TERM SUBJECTS
Where the second free attempt was still NYC students can pay a small fee ($100 per assessment) and access the PASS resubmission option.
NYC students are strongly encouraged to seek additional consultation time with their trainer to better understand competency criteria and even to develop an Individual Learning Plan.
PASS registration link will be available on the APC website and students will be able to register until Wednesday one week after the term end date (week 10). Once you have registered and paid, you will be enrolled into a special PASS instance in myAPC.hub within one business day. You will be able to resubmit your selected assessments there. PASS submissions will be accepted until Sunday one week after the term end date (week 10).
PREVIOUS TERM SUBJECTS
PASS will also allow resubmissions of outstanding NYC subjects from previous terms as long as the student has not finished the course whose subjects they wish to resubmit.
The registration process, assessment due dates and the resubmission fee are the same as for the current term subjects. Students can start working on their assessments prior to the registration as they will have access to the necessary resources in myAPC.hub. If the resources are not there, students should contact Student Care for assistance.
Students can attempt the resubmissions until their course end date. Students are encouraged to proactively monitor their course progress and address issues as soon as they arise.
ASSESSMENTS FROM COMPLETED COURSES
Students who have NYC assessments from previous and recently completed courses must re-enrol into the course for the appropriate amount of time to address outstanding assessments. Such re-enrolment would be allowed on compassionate and compelling grounds only as per the Completion within Expected Duration Policy.
HOLIDAY INTERVENTION PROGRAM (HIP)
There will be no more Holiday Intervention Program (HIP) in the term breaks.
